Welcome New Pros!
We are so pleased to welcome you to the team for the 2024-25 season! We are still preparing for the season ahead, so please check back as the season gets closer for the most up-to-date information. Our team works hard and plays hard. We are friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable. We will give you the tools you need to do the job and help you build a development plan for continuous self-improvement. There is always something new to learn!
Please use this page as a starting place and introduction to the Mount Snow Ski and Ride School, as well as the Mount Snow Training Center. This page is intended to guide you through the onboarding process and offer helpful resources. Please bookmark it and use it often to follow the onboarding steps, as each one is critical to getting you on snow with us this winter!
Let’s Get Started!
Where do I work? We have multiple core areas within our Ski and Ride School, as well as our Training Center. You may work in one of 4 areas within the SRS Department:
Snow Camp
Mountain Camp
Adults/Privates
Discovery Center Rentals
If you are joining the Training Center you may work in any one of these areas:
Development Team
Competitive Team
Events
What is your availability? Are you available to work Full-Time or Part-Time? Depending on your employment status as a full-time or part-time instructor with us this winter, please fill out the schedule that applies to you. The buttons below will connect you with a full-time and a 23-day part-time schedule submission option. Each schedule will layout the requirements we expect you to meet this season with us. If you have already submitted your schedule when you were first hired, you can skip this and move on to the next step.
This is for Ski and Ride School Employees specifically. If you are joining the Training Center Team, please communicate directly with the hiring manager.
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR INBOX
We will be communicating with you primarily through email this season. You will receive weekly updates throughout the season. Watch for emails in your inbox.
NEW EMPLOYEE SET-UP
After you complete the background check or Law Violation Question, you will receive an email from vailresortscareers@successfactors.com with instructions for completing your New Employee Setup. Some of you may have already done this following your official hiring with us.
Follow the link in the email to complete your documents. We recommend that you give yourself 30 minutes.
Please use a computer. The site is not currently available on mobile phones or tablets.
Please complete your New Employee Setup promptly. Even if your start date is a few months away, we need this information to get you set up in our systems and finalize your new position.
FINAL ONBOARDING FORMS
Within two weeks of your start date, look for an email from vailresortscareers@vailresorts.com with instructions for completing your Final Onboarding Forms. This email will also contain your login information for Vail Resorts’ employee systems and your employee ID number.
These forms give us the information we need to make sure you get paid and receive your pass to get up on the mountain, so make sure you complete them before your first day!
PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS FOR YOUR FIRST DAY
When you check in for work, you will need to bring in original, unexpired work authorization documents (no copies). Review the list of acceptable documents here and make sure you have them available. Vail Resorts is an E-Verify participant, so if you bring in a list B document it MUST contain a photo.
READ THE VERMONT EMPLOYEE GUIDE
Please take the time to read through this Vail Resorts Employee Guide for Vermont before your first day. This Employee Guide details many of our programs, policies and procedures - all of which are designed to make our company a satisfying and rewarding place to work.
DOWNLOAD THE EPIC EMPLOYEE APP
It’s time to start to familiarize yourself with this app and website. You won’t be able to access everything that this app has to offer yet, but this app will be your friend this season. You can access everything from your employee benefits and HR documents to location information. You can even keep an eye on the Vail Resorts stock chart.
If you have not already done so, download the app now. Follow these links to download for Apple or Android, or search “Now Mobile” in your app store. When prompted, use the URL “vailresorts.service-now.com” to get started. See more instructions here on accessing the new app.
Work Related Equipment
In order to teach here at Mt Snow you need to both wear a helmet and have your equipment, including your skis, boots and helmet, pass a safety inspection. We can provide you with a helmet if you do not already have one. Contact Shannon Mcavoy if that is the case. Please complete your equipment inspection as soon as possible. That can be taken care of at the Discovery Center rental shop. If you have any questions, please contact your Supervisor/Manager.
Class shadowing for new pros
After you complete a class shadow session with an experienced pro, as assigned by your supervisor, please complete this shadow form online. Remember, you need to submit the form on the same day that you shadow a class.
Not sure what to expect?
The majority of Ski and Snowboard lessons in the Ski and Ride School are at a beginner level. Read what a typical day is like for an instructor at Mt Snow!
