Tech Talks
These tech talks will start promptly at the designated starting time. They are typically scheduled to be an hour long. Please remember that this is an optional training offered by Mount Snow and the Training Staff, professionalism and understanding will be expected at all times.
We offer many opportunities to have off-snow discussions about Teaching Skiing and Snowboarding. We typically have a few different tech talks scheduled on Saturdays throughout the winter. Some may take place in-person and some may be virtual. We usually offer talks with focuses on:
Kid’s Teaching
Alpine
Snowboard
Please be prepared to Engage and Interact with the Course Conductor as they may prepare anything from Activities or Videos to group discussion. We also may be welcoming some Pro’s from of our other Vail Resorts properties. You can sign up for these ahead of time, as well as find the links to the talk on the clinic calendar.
Exciting training opportunities for Vail Resorts Ski and Ride Schools for the 2024/2025 season!
Vail Resorts is proud to offer a new National Team led Instructor Development Series for the 2024/25 season hosted by Robin Barnes, Skier Services Director at Heavenly and PSIA-AASI National Team alumna. These training sessions will be led by National Team members from PSIA-AASI and other snowsports education organizations from around the globe who are Vail Resorts instructors. You can expect an engaging virtual session each month, November through April.
The November and December sessions will be largely based the PSIA-AASI Learning Connection Model, including Teaching Skills, People Skills and Technical Skills. One goal of the training will be to explore the differences between Learning and Teaching. Links for the November and December sessions are below. Don’t miss out on these opportunities to learn from our Vail Resorts National Team members!
